What do you do when you have hundreds of customers using a data processing system that has become outdated and you have absolutely no control over its development, direction or future? A wise man once said, “If you don’t satisfy your customer, someone else will.” That was the position four independently owned distributors of a well known national credit union system found themselves in.
The solution to that dilemma spawned one of the most successful data processing solutions available to credit unions today.
Sharetec Systems, Inc. was formed in 1993 when those four companies formed a partnership committed to developing a very simple, yet robust data processing solution for its customers. The partners had a vision whereby sharing technology, hence the name Sharetec, and resources, they could offer a unique service solution to their regional territories. The partners, each owning 25% of Sharetec Systems, Inc., divided the country into regions, where each partner would provide sales, service and support for the Sharetec product.
The Sharetec partners, by combining its resources, employ over 250 employees, have over $100 million in revenues and support around 300 credit unions nationwide using its core system.
Gone are the days of little control over its product’s future and having to offer old technology. Sharetec now offers credit unions the latest technology, more products and services, faster deployment of new products, and one of the best business continuity plans in the industry.
